A Foggy Sunday

We had a beautiful and foggy Sunday morning this week. Jumped out of bed, grabbed my camera and was off before anyone was up moving around in the house. Was out for a couple of hours and loved every minute of it. Fog has become one of my favorite things to photograph.

Plant Eaters!!!

Can you see my teeth? Yep, that's gross!

Can you see me now? That's a lot of fake eyes!

These are Tobacco Horned Worms - and they are currently eating all of my tomato plants. They are like catepillars in that they morp in chrysallis' and then into moths - big wool eating moths, that will then eat all my winter clothes. My science lesson.

Been out of commission for a bit

Here are a couple of the latest photos I've been working on. Have been out of commission for a bit when I injured my neck/back in July. I injured the muscles on the right side of my back and bulged a disc in my neck. Ouch! Anyway, it was giving me some pretty massive migraines, but we seem to have gotten it under better control and I'm getting ready to get back out and catch some Fall color. These were taken in Mahomet, IL at the Lake of the Woods forest preserve. A pretty interesting place. Funny story about the top photo: I found this flower growing wild alongside the road and right across from a tee box to the golf course. Before photo'ing it, I looked to see if anyone was on the course - no one was so I proceeded. As I started shooting, the wind picked up, which caused me to have to sway with the flower to get a non-blurry image. Took quite a few tries and when I was finally happy, I stood up straight only to discover a group of men on the tee box watching me. They then gave a few hoots and cat-calls while applauding, had to be one of my most embarrassing moments ever. Will definitely be paying a bit more attention to my surroundings in the future!
